new year’s resolution

This year I will NOT:

  • try to make anyone happy – this will be as easy and natural as it would for a blind man not to see; and there’s a justification to it all:
    1. All interesting stuff was done by unhappy people while doing stuff that they thought will make them happier. So happy people are pretty much unproductive.
    2. I have an innate tendency to enjoy other people’s misery very much. God hates us all and he made me in his image (don’t worry… still a goddamn atheist… but stinging the mosquito can be quite fun).
  • pretend that I care – I don’t! No, really, I just don’t give a fuck! (this statement is more general than general relativity and it applies to the entire universe and transcends it).
  • give explanations and try to get myself understood – the world is a weird place and the clock is ticking… and you wouldn’t understand anyway, so why lose my time with it.
  • try to find inner equilibrium, peace and beauty – some form of disintegration is the only probable end… and in the end it will only matter how far we’ve got …not in how many pieces we’re broken.
  • be funny or playful – I’m not a fuckin’ clown! If you want entertainment, go get it somewhere else.
  • try to find the logic in all things – intuition is good enough and brute force actually works when you have access to it.
  • engage in meaningless social interaction – we lose too much time communicating instead of actually doing stuff. The biggest problem with communication is not the illusion that it has occurred but the fact the amount of useful information transmitted in the process is not enough to justify the time investment. And thing like “bonding” and “team-building” are just bullshit: a group of socio-emotionally mature people with a common goal and enough motivation will work together and get things done with no need for such things.
  • try to “really understand people” – regarding just about all people I’ve known so far, I can just say that their world-views are similar and not interesting. Interesting people should better try and make themselves noticed… ’cause I’m not searching for them anymore and I’m just about to stop believing in their existence.
  • try not to hurt people – bad things happen to good people and I don’t mind. If you are standing in my way, I might just drive my truck over you. Or I might do it just for fun. But remember: what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger; so I’m just doing it for your own good.
